4 days to IPL ><

Today is 15th April, four days to IPL.

Indian Premier League, Indian Popular League or Indian Peoples League. What ever one says, it’s now our People’s own League, “apna khel”. In a way, we’re saying to the world, beware guys, ‘lo and behold’, we’re again coming this year with a bang. And we’re gonna show it to the world, in bigger than ever ishtyle.

Remember, the commercial of IPL that of last year. “Mera Baap, Cricket ka Baap”, something like that ? a very good on. I’ve the reminiscence of last years IPL. That time I wasn’t interested in it initially, but as pace increased, slowly my interest and passion hiked in 20-20 format.

The passion, thrive, vigour, energy, vitality, enthusiasm and what not was there in IPL, isn’t it? The power shown by the players and the spectators was amazing . the action on the ground – due to short 20 over format – was spell bound. Three hours and fast cricketing was the mantra. The charisma those matches were having is still highly mesmerizing. I still remember those 157 runs by B.McCullum of Kolkatta Knight Riders in the very first match(which I enjoyed later on).

So, the memories of IPL 2008 are highly fresh and vitalizing in the minds of we Indians. And expectations are more this time. But unfortunately, Election 2009 has cooled the fever and subtracted the vigour. Chunav 2009, as it is symbolized with a ballet box as it’s insignia, is the commercial name of Elections. Lot’s of discussion, meetings between Mr. Lalit Modi, IPL Head and government took place mainly for the cause of security reason. No doubt it’s a major issue in Indian Subcontinent, I mean Election. lol, what a joke, right?

And finally after many distractions IPL 2009 has been finalized to be held in South Africa, a place of good hope. (And, birth place of “Amhimsa”). Let’s see what Mr. Modi and IPL in all have for us.

I’m eagerly waiting for the infectious and highly energized actions on the ground and classic sexy – ‘babeh’ – cheer leaders.

My Projection:

We’re surely gonna miss highly crowded stadiums which is a normal dictum in India, but still good mixture of players from all over the world is going to make a difference in South Africa.

Highlights:

  1. Bangladeshi cricketer sold at more than 7 crore is the limelight.

  1. Auction of all the cricketers in Goa was a huge success, and I watched it happily. Prity Zinta looked Sexy.

  1. Thank God, South Africa (time zone), is not for behind IST. Otherwise, time acheduling (day and night timings) of tow different geographically situated countries at different longitudes, might have created a big problem, had IPL been played in UK.

  1. I think, Mr. Lalit Modi and his sub-ordinates has made a right choice shifting the whole tournament ot S.A. If could have waited, but then, most of the cricketers would have run off to their countries for playing for their own matches. And then, IPL would have been tasted like Chinese Chowmin without vinegar and sauce. Phew !!!

Let's have it.
